WAR HORSES FOR VETS
Combining our passion for horses with veterans and first responders in need. War Horses for Veterans provides professional therapy and supportive services for those who protect and provide for our nation and communities.
— War Horses Mission
Our mission at WHFV is to equip veterans, first responders and others for success by using reflection and personal growth. Our goal is to help veterans and first responders who experienced life-disrupting trauma to recover from their limitations, to repurpose their talents and abilities to a successful life, and to reintegrate into their families, workplaces, and communities. We envision a community of active duty military, combat veterans, first responders and others who support one another as each individual moves from trauma through recovery to a productive and sustainable life.
Through exceptional horsemanship, War Horses for Veterans provides combat veterans and first responders the tools for growth personally and professionally. The combat veterans come from all over the country. The new First Responders division se

GUITARS FOR VETS
The Healing Power of Music in the Hands of Heroes.
G4V was founded by guitar instructor, Patrick Nettesheim and his student, Vietnam era Marine, Dan Van Buskirk.
The men realized that the guitar and lessons were a catalyst for positive human interaction and joy where it had once been lost.
Guitars and lessons are provided at no cost to US Military Veterans who are referred by their doctor or case/social worker at The Department of Veterans Affairs facilities.
Ten private lessons are taught using practice guitars donated by the local community. Upon completion, the Vet/student is awarded a new acoustic guitar and accessories. The Veterans continue this journey as long as they desire with ongoing group lessons. Playing guitar brings joy and opens up “windows of serenity” – it is meditation in motion.
Though not a cure or treatment (we are not therapists) for PTSD and other injuries, the G4V program offers a positive, rewarding step on the Veterans’ journey toward peace and happiness. It can inspire those in despair to keep on living and seek further help.
Since 2007, Guitars for Vets has provided nearly 6,000 new guitars and 60,000 lessons to our Nation’s Veterans. More than 110 chapters have been established in over 40 states and 500 volunteers assure
the mission is successful.
